Doesn’t my Medicare Advantage or Medicare Supplement cover any dental work I need done?
Perhaps. As an incentive to switch to Medicare Advantage, some carriers offer basic dental as an included benefit and then supplement that included coverage with a rider for additional coverage for additional premium. Most Medicare Supplement policies DO NOT include dental coverage.
Always check your plan to determine if it covers dental and what dental benefits it includes!
Do I need dental coverage?
Having dental insurance can give you much-needed peace of mind—especially considering the high cost of dental work. With a quality dental insurance policy, you can get coverage for anything from routine exams and cleanings to more complex procedures such as root canals and extractions.
The decision to buy dental coverage is a personal one and varies by individual. One needs to evaluate their current Oral Health, what they reasonably predict the condition of their future oral health to be, the level of importance they place on their oral health and the costs of the dental coverage.
